Early Life
Wardell Stephen Curry II was born on March 14, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, while his father Dell Curry was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where his father played for the Charlotte Hornets.
Despite his father's NBA career, Steph wasn't heavily recruited by major colleges due to his slight build and unconventional playing style. He eventually chose Davidson College, where he would make history.
College Career at Davidson
At Davidson College (2006-2009), Curry became a national sensation during the 2008 NCAA Tournament, leading the Wildcats to the Elite Eight. His incredible shooting performances made him a household name and NBA prospect.
